Planting the Seeds of Biodiversity: by Biodiversity Team
The 2016 Biodiversity team is underway this week with our first team meeting and our first meeting with our stakeholder, Dr. Gillespie. The priority these first few weeks is to lay the foundations for the rest of the year. We are familiarizing ourselves with literature about biodiversity to really solidify key scientific principles and methods to ensure that our project is as scientific and scrupulous as possible. We are also taking efforts to be as aware and informed as possible about the subject of our research, Sage Hill, one of the only native Californian environment on UCLA campus. Our project as of now is focused upon the restoration of Sage Hill. We hope to be able to research and plant native Californian species and observe the effect upon biodiversity in the area as well as many more exciting things to come!
